I seem to remember hearing they were deemed illegal at some point (gambling) but I might be wrong. I know I never see them anymore.

we still have them in arky, the gas station on the corner has one and there's always somebody playing it.
bama.. i'm gonna buy one and then just try to talk somebody into letting me put it in there business and maybe give them %25. even it takes home $500 a month , $375 to me would pay for my cc membership.
i had no idea you could make that much off one. says it's a tightly kept secret.

You would have to pay them at least 50%. And it's a cut throat business. At least here in NOLA. Most of the better locations have amusement contracts signed with companies and are locked in to them.

can't be to cut throat, not like there are different kinds of machines sitting there and you have to get somebody to choose yours, you get it in a store your golden, luckily i think i know a couple places i can get the hookup.

According to some sites..the payout is usually 70% to the player. So to clear $1k he's got to have $3,334 spent or over 13,000 coin drops.

More than likely, if the store owner has an ATM, the contract that they signed has a clause about coin op equipment.
And if course, if they have any other coin op equipment, they more than likely have signed a contract with an operator.

my latest goal is to find something to make money in a town of less that 7k people expansion is limitless. If i could put just one of these somewhere in every town in arkansas with 7k or less people and it pull in $500 i'd be making some money at a good clip. those tobacco store guys are rich as frick. they put those things in every shite town and clean house, same with dollar general there are over a 100 in the state.
50 x $500
25,000 X 12
300k doing nothing

If all the math is correct and your target markets are only 7k people, I seriously doubt you're going to make much money. 13k coin drops in one month is an awful lot for a town of 7k people..

And Dollar General is going to allow you to put a machine in their store that will take away money from their customers and into your pocket

correct and you have to pay for the machines and their upkeep and also the winnings from the machines.
You can make money doing this but it is TOUGH to get into stores and expensive to operate. Also, once a location proves that it makes money, you have to convince the store owner not to kick you out and buy their own machines.

Why not find a couple of larger markets and open an adult arcade.
Rent a space throw in a few coin pushers, video poker machines and penny slot machines. Instead of a cash payout, promote points for prizes. Get some junk on a shelf behind the counter and let them go crazy.
They had one in Springdale. Instead of awarding cash, they awarded Wal-mart gift cards. If you hit a 500 dollar jackpot you were awarded a 500 dollar gift card to Wal-Mart. The place stayed packed. Finally the city attorney shut down the gift cards. The owner then bought merchandise from a ABC catalog or some shite and it's like trading tickets at Chucky Cheese.
Make sure you have a large smoking area, little ole ladies who gamble also smoke.
It's a pretty good racket. You can make a ton off the machines and concessions.

And you honestly think no one else would have thought of this first and already be doing it if it was so easy to do?

Phoenix, AZ – They're called coin pushers. You put in a coin and it operates a
pusher arm that moves that coin and all the ones already in the
machine slightly foward. The idea is that, at some point, the
coins reach crucial mass and the latest addition will send some
spilling out the front. On Wednesday state Gaming Director Mark
Brnovich said his office seized dozens of these from bars,
convenience stores and other locations as illegal gaming devices.

But he's not blaming the shop owners.
(Someone is basically going around and pitching these to store
owners, convenience store owners, bar owners, small shops telling
them that there's no problem, they're legal. And the store owners
are taking the person's word on it to go ahead and installing
them and using them to make profit.)

Play spartacus online. Brnovich said state law does allow amusement devices where you
can win things. But what he called the Chuck E. Cheese exception
doesn't allow cash to be awarded. And merchandize prizes have to
be kept to less than $4. What's worse, he said, is these machines
were ripping people off.

(It appears that these devices were not only illegal but that
many patrons didn't even have a chance to win the prizes that
were offered.) Best numbers to pick on roulette.

Coin Pusher Game Near Me
That's because the machines have hidden compartments, which means
some of the coins pushed over the ledge never actually made it
into the hopper for the customer to retrieve. For Arizona Public
Radio this is Howard Fischer.
